Travel Tips:
- Cell service is unavailable along most stretches of Hwy 1 and on many of the connecting roads.
- Gas stations are scarce once you exit Hwy 101 to head toward the coast. Be sure to fill up along the way.
- Expect a longer-than-expected journey. Hwy 1 is a curvy, two-lane road, as are many of the connecting roads. Enjoy the scenery and use pullouts to let those faster drivers through.
- Avoid (we can’t emphasize this enough) GPS suggestions to take alternative routes such as Mountain View Road, Philo-Greenwood Road and Skaggs Springs Road.
